Great weekend. 06/30/2008

Good times, great people, late nights & lots of laughter.
I'm still tired. I'm okay with that.

Comedian 06/27/2008

Favorite comedian right now? Answer: Mike Birbiglia.
He's hilarious, his humor is clean which I really enjoy/ appreciate.
Watch some of his clips!
"I performed for the U.S. troops in Guantanamo Bay. And signed autographs for people who've been gone from America for so long they didn't realize that I'm not famous."

"What if you sincerely believed something was true but you were dead wrong, what if you were so stubbornly sure you were right that you wouldn't even consider the truth.
Would the truth be silenced or will it try to break through?"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
absolutely ridiculous.

"Everything" 06/24/2008

Incredibly powerful drama/ skit. Everyone should see it at least once.
The song is Everything by Lifehouse.
It has a lot of my testimony represented in it.

Zoo 06/23/2008

I went to the Philadelphia Zoo yesterday for the first time in years. It's not like what I remembered as a kid. It seemed smaller. And all the animals seemed depressed; except for the wallabies, and one very enthusiastic penguin.
And I heard that they had an elephant and giraffe die recently. How tragic. AND the park is way over-priced.

"We often ask God to show up. We pray prayers of rescue. Perhaps God would ask us to be that rescue, to be His body, to move for things that matter. He is not invisible when we come alive. I might be simple but more and more, I believe God works in love, speaks in love, is revealed in our love. I have seen that and honestly, it has been simple: Take a broken girl, treat her like a famous princess, give her the best seats in the house. Buy her coffee and cigarettes for the coming down, books and bathroom things for the days ahead. Tell her something true when all she's known are lies. Tell her God loves her. Tell her about forgiveness, the possibility of freedom, tell her she was made to dance in white dresses. All these things are true.

We are only asked to love, to offer hope to the many hopeless. We don't get to choose all the endings, but we are asked to play the rescuers. We won't solve all mysteries and our hearts will certainly break in such a vulnerable life, but it is the best way. We were made to be lovers bold in broken places, pouring ourselves out again and again until we're called home."

we will be her church, the body of Christ coming alive to meet her needs, to write love on her arms.

This cause is so near and dear to my heart. Please take the time to visit the website, read the full story, and see how love is the simply answer to so many things.

David Crowder 06/21/2008

I was listening to David Crowder Band and I reminisced about a youth retreat I went on many years ago where David Crowder was the lead worship for the weekend. Any time I hear him/ the band I think back to that weekend and how they were so incredible. I think David Crowder is the best worship leader out there right now. He can connect to the audience in a way that not many artists can, and it is so genuine. He knows and we know it's not about him, it's not about us… it's about God. I think David Crowder is truly blessed. He has a gift that he's using for God's glory and you can feel it when you're listening to his music; you can feel the Holy Spirit lift you up when you're hearing it live. For me that weekend was an experience, and I fell in love with the music. He and his music are influential and stunning.

"Where there is pain, let us bring grace. Where there is suffering, bring serenity. For those afraid, let us be brave. Where there is misery, let us bring relief.
Let us be the remedy".

People 06/20/2008

People fascinate me. I love seeing the uniqueness in which we are all made. Personalities, learning backgrounds and past hurts which make individuals behave the way they do. Difference in opinions that don't need to be 'right' or 'wrong'- I think that's something people don't have a good grasp on. Everyone's mindset, is "I'm right. Therefore you're wrong." It really doesn't need to be that way. It's just difference in perspectives and there's nothing wrong with that.
